You are an important part of your relationship and sometimes if you want to save your relationship, write yourself a love letter.
Relationships will always face challenges and sometimes, for whatever reason, you are not always able to depend on someone else to save your relationship. This is why it is so important that you have love and belief that you can self-heal. This reduces the risk of resenting another for not doing enough to make you happy.
Sometimes to keep the flame burning, you have to take responsibility for your own happiness and this comes easy when you love yourself. You should already be head over heels in love with you but if you need some encouragement, write yourself a love letter.
The letter should be filled with acknowledgement and encouragement and all the reasons why you think you are a wonderful human being. After all, you do think that you are a wonderful human being right? Please note we are talking about self love here and not vanity or narcissism. Finding it a bit hard or awkward to write about loving yourself?
A simpler way to try and approach this is to think about your partner. Now let them know what you love about them. From the littlest thing to the biggest. It might feel a little awkward at first but if it may save your relationship, it’s worth a little effort. What would you write to show your love and appreciation for them?
This will help you to begin to think about the kind of things that should apply to you as well. Become your partner and begin writing. Once you are finished, read the letter back to yourself and see how good it makes you feel.
Try doing this on a regular basis, maybe once a month at least. You might be surprised how far it goes into giving you the strength to save your relationship.
